KITETRIP SPOTS
Throughout our journey through northeastern Brazil, we will find a wide variety of spots. The waves are easy and very fun, and we will also visit flat water spots that are ideal for freestyle lovers and our beginner companions. Downwinds, which are optional, may incur a small cost for the buggy that accompanies us on land for safety reasons. The beaches have fine white sand, and there is no need to wear booties.
Taiba
A quiet town, far from the tourist crowds. Very close to our pousada is the vast Lagoa da Barra, frequented by both beginners and top-level athletes.
Flecheiras
Endless beach with waves suitable for intermediate kiters.
Moitas
A bay protected from the northeast swell, with small, orderly waves. The Aracatiaçú River delta causes large sandbanks to form at low tide, resulting in flat seas.
Guajirú Island
One of the most famous spots in Brazil. A unique place for sailing, it is a large lagoon formed by a large sandbar. The water is completely flat and shallow in many places.
Jericoacoara
Kite mecca in Brazil. You can ride outside the village, on any of its possible downwinds.
Preá – Duna: Very easy, unless you venture to pass the famous Pedra Furada, the last section of which is only suitable for the most advanced hikers.
Duna – Guriú: Downwind with small, very enjoyable waves, suitable for all levels, and for beginners to downwind sailing.
Guriú River: You can surf in the ocean, on waves, or at the river mouth, which has a huge expanse of flat water. Perfect for beginners.
Cumbuco
There are several flat water lagoons near Cumbuco, and you can also sail in front of the pousada, which is right on the beachfront. There is also the possibility of doing some local downwind sailing for intermediate and advanced kiters.
WIND
In the area where our kite trip takes place, from Fortaleza to Jericoacoara, it is normal to have wind practically every day between August and December.
The wind is from the E or ENE, i.e., side on for most of the route, and blows stronger the further north we go, i.e., the closer we get to Jericoacoara.
In Cumbuco, the wind usually blows at between 15 and 22 knots. In the Jeri area, the wind is much stronger, between 20 and 30 knots, often exceeding 35 knots.

LUGGAGE RECOMMENDATIONS
Clothing: Lightweight and cool , as we will be spending most of our time on the beach. It is advisable to bring a light windbreaker for the evenings, as the humidity and wind may make it feel a little chilly.
For warmth, just a jacket or light sweatshirt.
It is very important to wear sunscreen to protect ourselves from the sun.
Footwear: Forget about shoes, wear flip-flops the entire trip.
Personal care products: Throughout our trip, we will find stores where we can buy everything we need. However, at some points we may be somewhat far from town, so it is a good idea to bring some basic items with us.
Kiteequipment : We recommend bringing two bars. Although repair services are available along our itinerary, they are not available at all locations. Our guide will carry a basic repair kit.
We recommend bringing only two kites so as not to exceed the baggage allowance, although if you have extra space, you could add a 12 for the Cumbuco area. We always recommend checking the forecast before traveling.
First aid kit: Our guide carries a basic first aid kit to treat minor scrapes or cuts. There are pharmacies at almost every point along our itinerary.
Sunscreen: It is very important to bring waterproof sunscreen and reapply it frequently. We recommend wearing hats or other head protection.
Don't forget your sunglasses, both for land and sea, with their corresponding fastenings.
