Mauritius is located east of Madagascar, in the Indian Ocean.
It is a beautiful little island with idyllic landscapes, as it has lots of vegetation and beautiful mountains and volcanoes.
The best-known spot for surfing is Le Morne, in the southwestern part of the island. Here there is a lagoon with flat water where you can stand, but it is surrounded by a reef that generates some of the most famous waves in the world.
We stayed right next to this wonderful spot, at the Torquoise hotel, so as soon as you set foot on the sand, you'll be sailing.

TRAVEL RECOMMENDATIONS
- Clothing: Cool and light. It is advisable to bring a light windbreaker for the evenings, as the humidity and wind may make you feel a little chilly. For warmth, just a light jacket or sweatshirt. It is very important to wear Lycra to protect yourself from the sun.
- Footwear: Flip-flops for the beach, and comfortable shoes in case you go on any excursions.
- Personal care products: Throughout our trip, we will find stores where we can buy everything we need.
- First aid kit: There are pharmacies at almost every point along our route.
- Sunscreen: It is very important to bring waterproof sunscreen and reapply it frequently. We recommend wearing hats or other head protection. Don't forget sunglasses, both for land and sea, with the appropriate fastenings.
- Travel and accident insurance: We recommend taking out sports insurance. If you do not have any, we can provide it for you.
